How prepared are you for an emergency?

Laptop Disaster Survey

The next disaster could be just around the corner, which is why it's important that we are prepared to keep ourselves, our whānau and our friends safe. Part of being prepared is knowing what hazards we're at risk of here in the Bay of Plenty, so we know how we can get ready. These include earthquakes, tsunami or a severe weather event.

The Bay of Plenty disaster preparedness survey was conducted from the 1st to the 21st of May 2025 and allowed the Bay of Plenty Civil Defence Emergency Management Group to gather some information to help us figure out the level of disaster preparedness for the Bay of Plenty population. This ensures we know what our communities need and are able to provide the right resources and information.

The survey is now complete, but you can find the results of the survey here: Bay of Plenty Disaster Preparedness Survey 2025 | Participate BOPRC
